Koufu PTE LTD. is a well-established food court operator and manager in Singapore with over 50 food courts, coffee shops, and hawker centers across the region. Founded in 1990, Koufu has grown to become one of Singapore's largest operators in the food service industry, serving millions of customers annually through their extensive network of food establishments.
Koufu faced significant operational challenges that impacted their business efficiency and decision-making process:
Operations teams and HQ management struggled to access and interpret critical business data spread across multiple sources.
Staff spent excessive time compiling reports from various data sources, leading to delays in identifying operational issues.
Without real-time insights, outlet performance variations went undetected until monthly reviews.
Limited ability to detect unusual transaction patterns or potential fraud across their extensive outlet network.
Key operational data remained trapped in separate systems, making comprehensive analysis difficult.
I developed a specialized AI-powered software integrated directly into Koufu's existing web application, providing a conversational interface for data analysis and business intelligence.
The system adheres to Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act requirements for collecting, using, and disclosing personal data. All data processing activities maintain appropriate security arrangements and comply with data retention policies.
The Operations team can now instantly analyze sales performance across multiple dimensions:
"Show me coffee sales performance across all outlets for January 2023."
The enhanced system now automatically flags suspicious transaction patterns:
"Outlet #27 shows Grade A fraud risk. Unusual void pattern detected on February 12th with 27 transactions cancelled between 2-3 PM."
The AI software operates under a structured governance framework that includes model risk management, regular validation testing, and documentation of decision logic. This ensures reliability and accountability in business-critical operations.

The AI-powered software enables quick visualization of sales trends, allowing managers to identify patterns and make data-driven decisions.

As shown in the charts, Product P0400003 maintained consistent daily sales throughout both January and February, demonstrating stable demand and effective inventory management.

Standard conversational models needed significant customization for F&B operational terminology
Users consistently preferred chart representations for complex data comparisons
Simple anomaly detection wasn't enough; contextual understanding of normal operations was essential
Embedding the AI software in existing workflows drove higher adoption rates
F&B operations in Singapore must comply with multiple regulatory requirements:
Protection of customer and employee personal data with consent requirements
Guidelines for financial transaction systems and fraud prevention
Requirements for critical information infrastructure protection
Regulations for electronic payment processing and security
The AI software system implements technical and organizational measures that address these regulatory requirements while enabling efficient business operations across Koufu's extensive outlet network.
Building on the success of the initial implementation, we're working with Koufu on several enhancements:
Forecasting sales and inventory needs based on historical patterns
Extending data analysis to include supplier performance and pricing
Developing a mobile interface for on-the-go operational insights
Adding support for additional languages to accommodate diverse staff
